There isn’t a more beautiful sight than the American flag flying high. While you may know how to display the American flag, it is important to know how to discard a tattered or soiled flag.
When a flag is no longer a fitting symbol to display. The United States Flag Code says to retire it in a dignified way by burning and burying, according to Collins Flags.
While the federal code contains no penalties for misusing the flag. All states have their own flag codes and may impose penalties. The language of the federal code makes clear that the flag is a living symbol.
VFW Post 10380 has the area’s only permanent Flag Retiring Court. Located at Veterans Park in Green Township.
Green Township granted permission and financial support, to the Flag Retiring Court. Located next to the plaza at Veterans Park.
VFW Post 10380 has Flag Retiring Ceremonies two times a year. Once in October and in March at Veterans Park, 6231 Harrison Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45247.
